| Schedule for Day Students Tuesday through Friday and every other Saturday 8am-2pm Schedule for Night Students Monday through Thursday 5pm-10pm and Every other Saturday 8am-2pm Admissions The Alabama Board of Cosmetology requires that all students be at least 16-years-old and have completed the 10th grade. Your transcript must show that you were promoted to the 11th grade. Submit a copy of your diploma, GED, or high school transcript. If you do not have a high school diploma or a GED, you must take and pass an "ability to benefit" test in order to qualify for federal financial aid. Licensing Upon completion of the cosmetology program, students will have to take and pass the Alabama Board of Cosmetology Exam, in order to become a licensed cosmetologist. Transfer Policy Students can transfer clock hours to/from SESC to/from other cosmetology institutions, public or private. Clock hours from one program to another, within the institution, are not transferable according to Alabama State Board of Cosmetology policy. Tuition will be adjusted or refunded accordingly. For every full semester of cosmetology from a public, two-year institution, students will receive 375-clock hours towards the 1500 clock hours needed to complete the course.
